A Brief History of Bryan & Knott Insurance Brokers

Our Principal, Maurice Knott, commenced trading as an insurance broker in 1958 from the village of Alveley. On the 1st August 1970 he was joined by Thomas Bryan and the Bridgnorth office of Bryan & Knott Insurance Brokers was opened. Mr Bryan left the business in 1975 but the trading name continued.

Since 1979 several additional insurance practices have been acquired, some continuing to operate from their established premises, others amalgamating with existing Bryan & Knott offices.

Bryan & Knott Insurance Brokers now employ approximately 50 staff, and operate from offices in Bridgnorth, Albrighton, Broseley, Kidderminster, Oakengates and Wellington, with a specialist Commercial office operating from Bridgnorth, and a team of Independent Financial Advisers from each branch office. We are now one of the largest family-owned insurance brokerages in our region.

In 1994, 1995 and 1998 we gained the National Award, of Insurance Brokers of the Year and were highly commended in 1999.

Bryan & Knott Insurance Brokers provides General Insurance Services. Bryan & Knott Limited provides Independent Financial Advice and encompasses our Mortgage Advice Centre.

Our mortgage advice centre offers a comprehensive service and aims to make the mortgage application process as efficient as possible.
